Rachel Cunliffe
Rachel is the co-director of CensusAtSchool New Zealand, a government funded initiative for school children, and the founder of the educational blog Stats Chat. Both a trained statistician and successful web designer, she uses research and data analysis to guide her and focus on a content-driven approach to design. She is also a passionate teacher with eight years experience writing and lecturing data analysis at the University of Auckland. |
Professor Rachel Fewster
Rachel is a Statistical Ecologist, who works as a Professor of Statistics at the University of Auckland. A Statistical Ecologist focuses on the statistics of wildlife and conservation. Rachel’s specific areas of study are estimating animal abundance, population dynamics, population genetics and citizen science conservation. Rachel did her PhD in Statistics at the University of St Andrews, and her Masters in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. |
Associate Professor Claire Postlethwaite
Claire is an Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She was awarded her PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2006, and moved to New Zealand after two years of post-docs in the USA. Her background is in the area of applied dynamical systems, but her interests range from theoretical studies of differential equations to using applications of mathematics to understand animal behaviour and navigation. |
Professor Jennifer Brown
Jennifer is a statistician at the University of Canterbury. She is a Professor of Statistics, and until 2020, the Head of the School of Mathematics and Statistics. Her first degree was in Forestry Science, from which she progressed into statistics, graduating with a PhD from Otago University. Her work takes her all over the world where she provides advice and support for environmental monitoring programmes. Jennifer has a strong interest in leadership in the mathematical sciences and is an advocate for data science and the opportunities of this new field. |
